COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED AT THE END OF THE EXECUTIVE MEETING OF THE ROYAL AMBASSADORS, MOLETE BAPTIST CHURCH, IBADAN (RA MBCI), HELD ON SUNDAY, 27TH SEPTEMBER 2026

The Executive Council of the Royal Ambassadors, Molete Baptist Church, Ibadan (RA MBCI), held its Executive Meeting on Sunday, 27th September 2026, at Molete Baptist Church, Ibadan. The meeting commenced at 11:28 a.m. under the leadership of the R.A. Leader, Amb. Olaniyan David, with an opening prayer led by Amb. Mofe Oladosu. The meeting provided an opportunity to review the activities of the organisation, assess the performance of its various committees and officers, address matters arising from previous meetings, and deliberate on programmes and plans for the continued development of the Royal Ambassadors.

The Executive Council expressed appreciation to God for His preservation and acknowledged the commitment of officers and members to the work of the organisation. While recognising existing lapses in some areas, the Council reaffirmed that leadership within the Royal Ambassadors is a call to Christian service and a ministry of reconciliation. Consequently, all executives were charged to demonstrate greater commitment, discipline, responsibility and effectiveness in the discharge of their respective duties. Pasted markdown

On the administration of the R.A. Office and Library, the Council resolved that greater accountability must be maintained in the handling of organisational property. All materials entering or leaving the office are to be properly documented, and the indiscriminate removal or borrowing of R.A. materials is to be discouraged. Members responsible for the loss or damage of organisational property may be required to replace or pay for such items, while appropriate measures, including a possible caution fee where necessary, may be considered to promote accountability.

On finance, the Council noted that no comprehensive financial report was presented at the meeting, although a balance of ₦29,000 was reported to be with the Finance Chairman. The Council therefore directed that a detailed financial report showing all income, expenditure and available balances be prepared and presented before or at the next Executive Meeting. The Council reiterated that transparency, proper documentation and accountability must characterise the financial administration of the organisation. Pasted markdown

The Council also reviewed matters relating to welfare, programmes, RAGALY, missions, publicity and the proposed excursion. It reaffirmed the importance of giving adequate attention to the welfare of members and the boys while ensuring that welfare-related expenditure is properly planned and documented. Concern was equally expressed over the inactivity of the organisation’s social media platforms, and relevant officers were charged to strengthen the publicity machinery of RAMBCI and ensure regular communication of its programmes, activities and achievements.

Regarding the proposed excursion, the Council extensively considered the possibility of a Ghana trip, including its financial and logistical implications. Concerns were raised about the estimated cost and other requirements of the trip. It was consequently clarified that the Ghana excursion remains a proposal and is subject to further deliberation and approval. Alternative destinations, including Erin-Ijesha Waterfalls, Olumo Rock, Lekki Conservation Centre, Abuja and Kaduna, are also to be considered. The Council further agreed that the possibility of collaborating with the Youth Department on excursion activities should be explored to enhance coordination and avoid conflicting programmes.

On uniform, dressing, drills and ethics, the Council acknowledged improvements in the appearance and conduct of the boys but emphasised the need for sustained attention to neatness, uniformity, discipline, proper haircut and responsible behaviour. The Council stressed that character formation must go beyond parade activities and should reflect in the conduct of the boys in church, at home, in school and within society. It was further resolved that discipline and ethical development should not be regarded as the responsibility of the Ethics Committee alone; rather, every leader and executive must serve as a positive example and contribute to the moral and spiritual development of the boys. The Council reviewed the Ambassador Plenipotentiary ranking exercise and observed the need for strict adherence to established requirements and criteria. Issues relating to the recommended candidates were considered, and the Council resolved those subsequent ranking exercises must be conducted with greater attention to established procedures, proper documentation, fairness and consistency.

In addressing anti-social vices and the general moral development of the boys, the Council charged the Anti-Social Vices Committee (ASVC) to develop and properly document practical programmes aimed at addressing drug abuse, sexual immorality and other social and behavioural challenges. Such interventions should incorporate sensitisation, counselling, follow-up and other appropriate developmental initiatives. The Council also recognised the need to strengthen programmes relating to the FRSC and Red Cross as part of the broader development of the boys. The Council further considered the R.A. Band, National Leadership Training Conference (NLTC) and National Band Leadership Training. Members and officers were encouraged to take advantage of leadership and capacity-development opportunities available at Association, Conference and National levels. The Council reiterated that leadership positions demand exemplary conduct, discipline and commitment and that executives must demonstrate the values they expect the boys to emulate.

On camping activities, the Council considered complaints and observations arising from the previous camp and resolved that such feedback should be properly documented and taken into account when planning future camps. Camping programmes should continue to be deliberately structured to promote the physical, spiritual, moral and social development of the boys.

During the Executive Orientation, officers were reminded of the responsibilities attached to their respective offices. Particular emphasis was placed on effective communication, accurate documentation, proper record keeping, publicity, discipline and spiritual development. The Sports Director was charged to develop proposals for the proposed Christmas Cup and other sporting activities, while the Bible and Prayer Coordinator was encouraged to strengthen Bible study, Bible competitions, prayer meetings and related spiritual programmes. The Secretary, Recording Secretary, Public Relations Officer, Chief Whip and Warrant Officer were equally reminded of the specific responsibilities attached to their respective offices. The Council reaffirmed that holding an executive position is a privilege that must be matched with responsibility and service.

The Council considered and ratified the proposed budgets presented for various programmes and offices. The proposed budget for the Office of the Deputy R.A. Leader was ₦2,745,000; the Band, ₦48,000; Parade, ₦620,000; and Welfare, ₦20,000. Following deliberations, the budget was accepted subject to the observations and considerations raised during the meeting. The Council also resolved that internal communication within RAMBCI must be strengthened. Official information should pass through the appropriate channels, and officers are expected to communicate accurately, promptly and responsibly. Executives were charged to maintain unity, cooperation and mutual respect in the discharge of their responsibilities, while the organisation’s communication and social media platforms should be made more active and effective.

Furthermore, the Council reaffirmed the importance of active participation in relevant Association, Conference and National programmes while ensuring that the interests and responsibilities of Molete Baptist Church remain central to the activities of RAMBCI. Attention is also to be given to strengthening the Junior and Intermediate Forum and providing appropriate programmes for the different age groups within the organisation. Pasted markdown

The meeting formally received Amb. Kehinde Adeoye for possible involvement in the committee structure of RAMBCI. His placement in an appropriate area of service, including possible involvement with the Anti-Social Vices Committee, is to be considered by the leadership based on where his service would be most effective. In conclusion, the Executive Council reaffirmed its commitment to building a disciplined, spiritually grounded, morally responsible and development-oriented Royal Ambassadors organisation. All officers, committees and executives were charged to implement the decisions reached at the meeting and ensure that assigned responsibilities are followed through. The Council called for renewed commitment, accountability, cooperation and unity among all leaders as they work collectively towards the spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical and social development of the boys entrusted to their care. The meeting concluded with a brief worship session, after which the closing prayer was offered and members shared the Grace in fellowship.
